Philippine guerrilla money, or emergency notes, were emergency currencies authorized by the exiled Commonwealth government and produced by local governments and resistance forces between 1942 and 1944 during the Japanese occupation. Printed with makeshift presses, woodblocks, and rubber stamps, these crude banknotes were used to support local economies and military operations against the Japanese, who had introduced their own, rapidly inflating currency.
